Sofia Ojeda is the Weeknight 7, 10, 11 Co-anchor with Scott Shaffer. She joined the Newswatch 16 team in November, 2010 as the Lackawanna County beat reporter… and a few months later became the weekend anchor. In 2013 she moved up to the prime-time seat, and looks forward to being your first choice of news you trust.
Before hitting up the great state of Pennsylvania, she spent quite some time in the Empire State. Sofia worked as the morning anchor and reporter at WETM in Elmira. She also worked at WIVT/WBGH in Binghamton as an anchor/reporter for three years. Before getting to the southern tier, she was in New York City; first at WABC as a Desk Assistant, and then a freelance reporter at News 12 the Bronx.
Sofia was born in Lima, Peru and moved to U.S. when she was a little girl. She grew up in New Jersey and later graduated from The College of New Jersey with a degree in Communications. Sofia is fluent in Spanish and loves learning other languages and cultures. She played basketball in college and still loves an occasional pick-up game. Sofia loves taking road trips and spending time with friends and family.

Just in time for Sofia’s last Taste Test, Hershey’s has two new chocolate spreads. The spreads come in chocolate almond and chocolate hazelnut and can be put on pretty much anything, including toast, fruit, or ice cream. The Newswatch 16 team weighs in on what they think of the new spreads and also what they think of Sofia.
Two of the best cookies have come together in this week’s Taste Test. Chips Ahoy has come out with new Oreo creme filled cookies. That’s chocolate chip cookies filled with vanilla creme filling. And they also have chocolate chip cookies filled with brownie filling. We stopped by the Viewmont Mall in Dickson City to see what people think.
We’ve waited a long time for this day, but it has finally come. We’re trying Nabisco’s limited edition Red Velvet Oreo cookies. The Oreo has two red velvet cookies with cream cheese flavored icing inside. We headed to Wyoming County, where we caught up with some folks out and about in Tunkhannock to see what they thought of the latest oreo cookie flavor in this week’s Taste Test.

For this week’s Taste Test, we stopped by Wilkes University during a big rivalry basketball game and asked some students what they thought of the treats.

The new flavors include Raspberry Fudge Chunk Greek Frozen Yogurt, Frozen Yogurt Chocolate Fudge Brownie, and Pistachio Pisatachio Ice Cream. SPRINGVILLE TOWNSHIP — A man is dead after a fiery crash in Susquehanna County on Friday. It happened just before 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of Route 29 and State Route 3004 in Springville Township.
