  • Archangel Airborne Hosts Community Outreach Day in Wayne County

    CHERRY RIDGE TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Archangel Airborne held its 7th annual Community Outreach Day near Honesdale on Saturday. Attendees got to check out the airport hanger, take part in plane flying demonstrations and listen to aviation experts. Archangel Airborne is an all-volunteer task force that utilizes aviation resources to help areas dealing with poverty or natural disasters. Plane enthusiasts also got to enjoy flight simulators at Saturday’s event near Wayne County.

  • Bluegrass Festival in Luzerne County Benefits Veterans

    LEHMAN TOWNSHIP, Pa. — People in part of Luzerne County got to enjoy the sunshine and some bluegrass music. The “Picking for Patriots Bluegrass Festival” was held Saturday at the Luzerne County fairgrounds in Lehman Township. There was live music, arts and crafts and plenty of food.   • Motorcycle Driver Hospitalized After Crash in Lycoming County

    WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — A motorcycle driver was flown to the hospital Saturday morning after a crash in Lycoming County. Police in Williamsport said the motorcycle and another vehicle crashed into each other along East Third Street. The impact sent the driver of the motorcycle into another vehicle. The condition of the motorcycle driver is unknown after Saturday morning’s crash in Lycoming County.

    WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — People in part of Luzerne County marched to the park to celebrate PrideFest on Saturday. The march, put on by the Rainbow Alliance and The Wright Center for Community Health, began on Public Square in Wilkes-Barre and ended at Kirby Park.   • Honesdale Building Damaged By Fire Demolished

    HONESDALE, Pa. — Two excavators scooped up what was left of the burned out coal bin building Saturday morning on Commerical Street in Honesdale.  At one time, the building helped to power the trains that made Honesdale what it is today. Gerald Margraf, who is employed by Leeward Construction, said crews did what they could to salvage what was left of the building built in 1899.   • Stabbing Arrest in Pottsville

    POTTSVILLE, Pa. — A teenager was arrested after a stabbing Friday night in the city of Pottsville. Police told Newswatch 16 they found the 18-year-old victim along East Market Street in the city. The victim was bleeding from the chest and told officers he was stabbed by 17-year-old Christopher Rojas in the area of North George Street.
