Don (Jake) Jacobs was raised in West Pittston Pennsylvania and graduated from Wyoming Area High School. He later attended East Stroudsburg University where he majored in Speech Communications and Theater. While in college, Jake started an internship at WNEP-TV in the summer of 1982. He was hired at WNEP-TV just three days after graduating from college and has worked there ever since.
After eight years in charge of the Assignment Desk in the newsroom, he was asked to take the position of Producer for Pennsylvania Outdoor Life. Being an avid outdoorsman, he took the job without hesitation. After three years of producing and reporting, he was promoted to host of the program. Today he is recognized as a popular on air personality for WNEP-TV.

He also hosts the “Power to Save” series on WNEP as well as other specials. Don is dedicated to the Muscular Dystrophy Association’s “Black and Blue Ball” and is one of the emcees for the St. Joseph’s Telethon. He also sits on numerous boards and committees in the community.

When Don is not at work or out in the community representing WNEP-TV, he is busy spending time with family and friends. Besides hunting and fishing, he also enjoys live music, dancing, cooking, mushroom picking, nature hikes and vacationing. He now lives in Lackawanna County with his girlfriend, Lucy.
