  • Fire at a Home in Lycoming County

    HEPBURN TOWNSHIP — Officials in Lycoming County say a family was forced from their home after a fire. Crews rushed to the home on Crescent Hill Road near Williamsport just before midnight. Firefighters got the flames out quickly. No injuries were reported. The cause of this fire is under investigation.

  • Snowmobile Crash Turns Deadly

    BERLIN TOWNSHIP- State police say a man was killed late Saturday night while riding a snowmobile. The crash happened on Beach Lake near Honesdale around 9 p.m. Kevin Mulligan of Honesdale was riding a snowmobile across Beach Lake when investigators believe he became disoriented and crashed into a stack of aluminum docks along the shoreline. Police then say Mulligan was thrown from the snowmobile and died. Officials say Mulligan was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

  • Car Smashes into Barn

    SCOTT TOWNSHIP- A wreck north of Scranton left a hole in the side of a barn early Sunday morning. The car ran off Route 347 in Scott township around 1 a.m. and crashed into a barn. Police say the driver of the car was injured, but those injuries are not life-threatening. Police are not yet saying why the driver lost control in Lackawanna county.

  • Fire Forces About 90 People Out

    SCRANTON — A morning fire at an apartment building in Scranton displaced about 90 people from their homes, for what is expected to be one of the coldest weeks of the year. The fire happened at the United House Apartments in the 500 block of Pine Street in Scranton. The fire victims include the elderly, as well as people with physical and mental disabilities.     SHENANDOAH- Fire raged through two homes early Saturday morning. The fire started at a home on the 400 block of West Center Street in Shenandoah around 4 a.m. The Schuylkill county communications center says the fire went to three alarms. The fire chief says one firefighter was taken to the hospital for minor injury. A resident was also taken to be checked out.     WILKES-BARRE TOWNSHIP- Police say an armed robbery at a fast food restaurant left employees barricaded in a freezer early Saturday morning. Investigators say workers at the Wendy’s on Highland Park Boulvevard in Wilkes-Barre Township were just about to call it a night when two of them went to throw out the trash and found themselves facing a pair of robbers with guns.   • Three Arrested in Connection to Robberies

    KINGSTON- Authorities in Luzerne County believe they have the men responsible for two robberies at the same gas station in three days. Police arrested Shawn Butler, Nicholas Reed of Scranton and Charles Everetts of Edwardsville Thursday night. The arrests come after police say Reed and Everetts robbed Sunoco on Market Street in Kingston Thursday night with a B-B gun.   • Home Destroyed by Fire in Susquehanna County

    RUSH TOWNSHIP- Firefighters in Susquehanna county are looking for the cause of an late night fire. The alarm at the home along Route 267 south in Rush Township came in around 10:30 p.m. The house is destroyed. We’re told no one was home at the time of the fire, and no firemen were hurt.

    HAZLE TOWNSHIP- State police are investigating the attempted theft of a few televisions. Investigators say it happened last month at Walmart in Hazle Township.   • Two Cabin Fires in Luzerne County

    ROSS TOWNSHIP- Two cabins near one another went up in flames early Saturday morning in Luzerne county. The call went out for fire crews around 5:30 a.m. off Route 118 in Ross Township. The fire chief says four people were in the cabins at the time of the fire and they all made it out. No injuries were reported. The chief says he doesn’t believe the fires are suspicious.
