  • Deadly Crash in Schuylkill County

    NEW CASTLE TOWNSHIP- Two men are dead after a crash in Schuylkill county. State police say the crash happened around 3 a.m. Saturday on Route 61 near Pottsville. Two vehicles smashed into one another killing both drivers. Officials say the drivers were Brian Hibshman of Berks county and Earvin Wallace of Shenandoah. Neither man was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

  • Crews Search for Downed Aircraft

    HARFORD TOWNSHIP- Emergency crews will be out again Sunday morning searching for a plane that went missing Saturday afternoon. Officials say they are looking for a Cessna T-50 twin-engine plane with two people on board. The plane went missing Saturday afternoon in the area of Route 547 in Harford township.   • Police Investigating Robbery in Wilkes-Barre Township

    WILKES-BARRE TOWNSHIP- Police are investigating an early morning robbery in Luzerne county. It happened on Wilkes-Barre Township Blvd around 1:30 a.m. Officials say a man went into the Turkey Hill and demanded cash. Police did not say if the man had a weapon. No one was hurt in the robbery.

  • Puppies Removed from Home in Wayne County

    WAYMART- Dozens of dogs were taken from a home in Wayne county early Saturday morning. A complaint about barking led to the discovery of the dogs at the home along Route 296 in Waymart. A Humane Society officer says a total of 55 dogs were taken, including a litter of puppies that are only a few days old.   • Four Hurt in Wreck

    LEHIGH TOWNSHIP- Four people hurt in a wreck near Gouldsboro Friday night. Police say it happened around 11 p.m. when a car crossed the center line of Route 507 in Wayne county. Investigators say all injuries in Friday night’s crash were not life-threatening.

  • Police Officer Hit by Car

    DORRANCE TOWNSHIP- A police officer in Luzerne county is recovering after being hit by a car Friday night. State police say, an officer from Butler Township police department was assisting in an arrest on an assault suspect from Freeland in the Mountain Top area when he was hit. Investigators say Pragnesh Pathak of Mountain Top was driving the car, and he is facing charges.

  • Flames Damage Luzerne County Home

    HANOVER TOWNSHIP- Fire broke out at a home on Solomon Street Saturday morning. The first alarm went out around 10:30 a.m. When crews arrived on scene, fire was shooting through the side of the home. It’s not clear how many people lived in the home, or if anyone was inside at the time of the fire. Solomon Street and Hazle Street have been blocked off while crews investigate. A state police fire marshal has also been called to the scene.

  • Fire at Home in Lackawanna County

    SPRING BROOK TOWNSHIP — A home near Moscow has been destroyed after a fire broke out early Saturday morning. The fire started around 1 a.m. at the home on Route 307 near Moscow, authorities say no one was home at the time. Route 307 was closed for a few hours while crews worked to put out the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

    WRIGHT TOWNSHIP– Grieving friends visited 4 Walden Lane trying to understand what happened. Witnesses say, just after 11p.m. Friday night something caught on fire in the rear of the house, the flames spreading quickly.   • Fire Destroys Garage in Lackawanna County

    TAYLOR- A large fire destroyed a garage at a business in Lackawanna county. The fire started Saturday night around 9:30 p.m. at A-Plus Powerwash on South Keyser Avenue in Taylor. Fire crews say a garage at the back of the property burned. Power lines also caught fire and one propane tank exploded. The fire chief believes the building is a total loss. A fire marshal will be looking for a cause to the fire in Lackawanna county.
