PENNSYLVANIA, USA — PPL officials told Newswatch 16 in January that the company sent out incorrect electric bills after a technical glitch.
During an investigation, the PA Public Utility Commission found that 67% of customers had estimated bills that differed from their actual usage.
As part of the proposed settlement, PPL has agreed to pay a million-dollar civil penalty and absorb an additional $16 million to rectify billing issues.
The settlement still needs final approval.
