MILTON, Pa. — When Santa Claus makes his rounds on Christmas Eve, he won't miss this house on Old Route 45 in Milton.
"That's an old one, and of course, that's an old one, and the Nativity scene—they're old," said Bonnie Egizi, Milton Christmas display.
With just a flip of a switch, the yard lights up each night—something you can't miss driving by.
"Every year, I add a few more pieces, so it's getting bigger and bigger every year, and it's just something I enjoy doing. I get a lot of pleasure out of it, a lot of pleasure," said Egizi.
Dozens of new and old decorations have been added over the years, and sure enough, people in the area make the trip to admire all the work that goes into the dazzling display.
"By the Santa Claus and sleigh that's old, that's an old one," said Egizi.
Bonnie Egizi, 81, is the mastermind behind it all, and I asked Egizi if she gets any help setting it up every year.
"Nope I do it all myself, even when my husband was alive I did it by myself because it wasn't his bag, so I do it all by myself, it takes me a while but I get er done," said Egizi.
Egizi says she starts setting up after Thanksgiving, and it takes her hours to transform her home into a Christmas wonderland.
"I always want more. Every year I go out looking, I want more," said Egizi.
She makes sure every decoration is in the perfect spot. Her display gets a lot of attention, too—Egizi watches cars slowly pass her home when the sun starts to set.
"So I know that other people are enjoying it too, and that gives me a lot of personal enjoyment knowing that somebody else is going by and seeing it and enjoying it," said Egizi.
There is one downside. The display requires a lot of power.
"That's the only bad part the next month after Christmas you get this big electric bill but I just enjoy doing it," said Egizi.
And if one house isn't enough. There's more houses like Egizi's on Old Route 45 if you're in the Lewisburg area.
