HAMILTON TOWNSHIP -- Monroe County has a new miniature golf course and what sets this one apart from most is that it is accessible to people with disabilities
A new mini golf course near Snydersville is a hole in one for people coming out to play.
One family from Mount Pocono spent their day testing out the new course.
"Oh, it's great. It's great, a lot of fun for families plus you have the driving range and something to eat so this is a very nice addition," said Randy Graver, Mount Pocono.
Snydersville Golf Range in Hamilton Township recently opened its new 18-hole mini golf course. Owners hope the nautical theme makes customers think they are at the beach.
"So many people from our area go to New Jersey for their summer vacation and play mini golf there we thought we would bring that element here to the Poconos," said owner Hillary Potcher.
The nice part about this mini golf course is that it's handicap-accessible. There is enough space for a wheelchair to go right through and on to the next hole.
"The first nine holes are handicap accessible so you can play the first nine holes twice to get your 18 holes in," Potcher explained.
Some golfers we caught up with tell us there are not many handicap-accessible activities for people to do in the Poconos, so this new course is a putt in the right direction.
"If you have a walker or wheelchair or a broken leg you can still navigate it," said Janet Graver.
Owners tell us there are still some final touches that need to be put on the course. That is expected to be complete in the coming days.
The mini golf course in Hamilton Township is open every day.
