POCONO TOWNSHIP -- People living in the Poconos who have been impacted by the 48-day manhunt for accused cop killer Eric Frein say the news of his capture is a huge relief. They say they finally feel like they can sleep easier.

"I was just at my bar and everybody was clapping. It was like a relief for everybody," said Rusty Burke of Pocono Township.

The almost seven-week search for Eric Matthew Frein is over. He's been caught.

"The residents can save $1.5 million a week trying to find this guy. I'm surprised he came in alive," Burke said.

The intense manhunt brought law enforcement from around the state and beyond to this part of the Poconos. Some say they grew used to seeing troopers and federal agents all around.

"I actually felt like I was in a war zone a couple of weeks ago. It was hard to sleep for a few nights, worrying about where's he at and where his whereabouts are. It is a good thing now that he is caught and now we can finally rest again," said Mark Denny of Swiftwater.

Many say the arrest of one of America's Most Wanted is good news for everyone.

"I'm surprised he lasted this long being out there hiding," said Lisa Gallagher of Pocono Township. "Glad they caught him. Everybody can go back to normal, living their lives. Kids can go back to school.
