WILKES-BARRE — Demolition began Thursday morning on a Catholic Church in Luzerne County.
Crews began tearing down Blessed Sacrament church on East Main Street in the Miners Mills section of Wilkes-Barre.
The diocese of Scranton closed the church in 2010.
Former parishioners call the building a landmark and say they’re sad to see it go.
The demolition is expected to take a few days.
