SCRANTON -- The teachers union in the Scranton School District announced Friday afternoon that teachers could strike next week.
They are set to hit the picket line on Thursday if they cannot reach a deal with the district.
Thursday was supposed to be the first day of school for students.
The Scranton Federation of Teachers tells Newswatch 16 negotiations are scheduled for Monday and Tuesday, but if they don't lead to a deal, there will not be classes in Scranton on Thursday.
