SCRANTON, Pa. — Scranton High School hosted its first Unified Track and Field Meet Wednesday afternoon.

Special needs athletes from West Scranton, Scranton, Mid Valley, and Valley View came together to compete in different events.

"For the last month, since our kids have joined the team, this is all they've been working towards, all we've been leading up to. They're super excited for this day, and I couldn't be more happy that it's happening," said Sarah Holweg, West Scranton High School coach.

The track meet serves as part of the Special Olympics Program.
