LACKAWANNA COUNTY, Pa. — Volunteers were busy planting trees in Montage Mountain on Saturday morning.
Volunteers focused on areas impacted by wind and runoff throughout the winter and shoulder seasons. Many people came out to help plant 6-8 foot trees. The trees will help mitigate erosion from water damage, keep winds from wearing on the snowpack during the winter, and ultimately lower the carbon footprint by using less energy to make snow.
This was the seventh year of "Grow".
