SCRANTON, Pa. — Celebrating the start of Kwanzaa in Lackawanna County.
The NEPA Pan African Coalition hosted a Kwanzaa celebration this afternoon on Jackson Street in Scranton.
The festival featured food, live entertainment, including dancing and singing, a visual gallery, and the lighting of the Kwanzaa candle.
"We try to exemplify all the wonderful qualities that all human beings should have, and at the same time, we also focus on all the cultures of the African diaspora," said Rashida Lovely, Director of NEPA PAC.
Kwanzaa runs through January 1.
