Lehighton Fire Department's 150th anniversary

A Fire department in Carbon County is celebrating its anniversary with a parade and community festival this weekend.

CARBON COUNTY, Pa. — A fire department in Carbon County is kicking off its 150th anniversary with an open house, parade, and community festival that started today and continues on Saturday.  

The Lehighton Fire Department held an open house at the firehouse Thursday afternoon, along with a program celebrating the company's history and dedicating its newest fire apparatus.

The celebration will continue on Saturday with a parade and community festival starting at 1 p.m.  

The route will be from Coal Street to 3rd Street to Iron Street, ending at 8th Street in Lehighton. 

Make sure you line up along the streets to enjoy this four-division parade with nine bands, floats, and fire trucks.
