UPDATE: South Franklin Street reopened Wednesday afternoon to regular traffic patterns, according to the mayor’s office.

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — A road in downtown Wilkes-Barre will be closed for most of Tuesday and Wednesday disrupting traffic.

South Franklin Street will be closed between Market and Northampton Streets from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday.

City officials say the road will be shut down while a large crane is being used at the Citizens Bank Building.

Drivers will be able to get to Boscov’s, the Westmoreland Club, and other nearby businesses.

Flaggers will be on Northampton Street to help people help those people get where they need to go.
