Woman Dies in Carbon County Crash

BANKS TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- A driver died in a crash in Carbon County Tuesday morning.

Katlyn Tarud, 27, of Beaver Meadows, died when she lost control and crashed into a tree along Spring Mountain Road in Banks Township around 9:30 a.m., according to state police.

A 3-year-old child in a car seat had minor injuries.

    So many believe they are in a secured environment and invincible in a vehicle! The laws of physics do not lie! The force of impact, combine with the kinetic energy of coming to a complete stop, causes the driver to fly forward due to the inertial force, is devastating! You cannot and I repeat cannot stop inertial force, but it helps wearing a seat belt!
