Jack Fails, Man Crushed by Truck

BARRETT TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- Authorities say a man is dead after being pinned underneath a truck in Monroe County.

Emergency crews were called to the area of Hemlock Way and Big Oak Road near Canadensis on Monday.

The coroner tells us the man had the truck up on a jack when the jack failed.

His name has not been released.

Police in Monroe County continue to investigate.

    Jacks lift the vehicle , jack stands are used if you need to work under them , I have had two jack failures myself and neither caused injury . There are also rules of working on a level surface , chocking wheels and setting park brake on top of actually using the lift /support points on vehicles .
