ASHLEY, Pa. -- A fire that damaged a catering and banquet business in Luzerne County early Tuesday is a case of arson.

The fire started at Bentley's on Route 309 just before 6 a.m. on Tuesday.

State police investigators could be seen entering and exiting the building with boxes of evidence into the late afternoon.

Ashley's police chief tells us security camera footage will be used to try and to determine how the fire was set.

Recently, the building has been operating as a BYOB social club.

"At one point, there was a liquor license that was placed in safekeeping, so they weren't allowed to serve alcohol, so it was basically when it was open, it was open sporadically and it was more of a BYOB type of operation," said Ashley Police Chief David Fedorczyk.

Investigators have not said exactly how the fire started or if there are any suspects.
