John Mitchell Day in the Electric City

SCRANTON, Pa. -- In Scranton Wednesday night, people took the time out to remember a long-ago labor leader.

Wednesday was John Mitchell Day in the Electric City.

Mitchell was president of the United Mine Workers at the turn of the 20th century. He's hailed by organized labor as a champion of workers' rights.

Wednesday's ceremony was held at Mitchell's gravesite at Cathedral Cemetery in Scranton.
