Hundreds to Turned Out to Mark 73 Years Since India’s Independence from United Kingdom

SCRANTON, Pa. -- Hundreds dropped by Nay Aug Park in Scranton to mark 73 years since India's independence from the United Kingdom.

Organizers say Thursday night's celebration is the first of its kind in Scranton.

Folks ate Indian food and listened to traditional music.

There was also a small parade at the park in Scranton.
