Funeral Director Sentenced for Tax Evasion

SCRANTON, Pa. -- A funeral director from Scranton was sentenced Thursday to 15 months in federal prison for tax evasion.

In February, Al Hughes pleaded guilty to diverting more than $890,000  in checks made out to four funeral homes to his personal account.

Authorities say he failed to report the income on his federal tax returns.
