LOCK HAVEN, Pa. -- A 12-hour standoff in Clinton County ended Thursday morning when the suspected gunman took his own life.
Investigators say it started around 9 p.m. Wednesday on Bald Eagle Street in Lock Haven.
Police surrounded a home looking for Thomas Matthews in connection with a shooting that happened earlier in the evening in Williamsport. Officers were at the home for several hours before moving to Bellefonte Avenue and the home of Matthews' girlfriend.
The girlfriend came out of the home around 7 a.m. Thursday and told police Matthews was inside. An hour later, a response team went in and found Matthews dead.
