Volunteers Read to Cats at Griffin Pond

SOUTH ABINGTON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – Children and adult volunteers read to cats at Griffin Pond Animal Shelter near Clarks Summit on Sunday.

Organizers say reading is soothing to cats and allows for quality lap time.

The event, called Pages for Purrs, also benefits the children and adults by enhancing their reading skills.

The cats are available for adoption.
