Family Unhappy After Walmart Graduation Cake Turns Out to be Styrofoam

PASADENA, Texas — A high school graduate was ready to celebrate her big day with cake — until she realized the cake was Styrofoam, KPRC reports.

Marsy Flores said she wanted to give her daughter a great graduation day but her hopes to have a cake to celebrate the occasion quickly crumbled.

“They can't replace the moment that we lost," she told KPRC. "It’s a special moment, and this is what we got for it, a Styrofoam cake. Not only did they mess up one time, they did it twice."

First, on the morning of the ceremony, Flores was at Walmart to pick up a two-tier cake when they told her they lost her order.

To make it up to her, the store agreed to give her another cake for free. She selected a smaller cake.

The bakery put a picture onto the cake and added a few extra embellishments on the frosting before handing off the dish to Flores.

It wasn't until the knife hit the cake, however, that the family realized it wasn't a cake at all.

Underneath the frosting was just a rectangle of Styrofoam.

Walmart gave the family a $60 gift certificate after they complained.

HOW IS CUTTING A CAKE SPECIAL AND IMPORTANT. DID SHE STILL GRADUATE? DID SHE STILL ACCOMPLISH SOMETHING? SHUT UP AND GET OVER IT. YOU WERE GIVEN A $60 GIFT CARD FOR A CAKE YOU DIDN’T EVEN PAY FOR!!!!!!

Those styrofoam cakes are delish …. less filling and great if you are on a diet …. just don’t put it in the microwave ~8^)

She selected a smaller cake. It is very likely that the employees thought that she WANTED that particular cake, even though it was fake, and didn’t question her choice.

Oh, how sad……..something in Life didn’t go as predicted!!! Well, if everyone weren’t so fragile, the customers would have taken SOME responsibility for the error. I mean, contemplate how heavy a sheet cake is compared to how LIGHT the display cake must have been. DUH……….this was a learning opportunity for everyone involved (including the employee).

They should have gotten more than a $60 gift certificate. How incredibly stupid to you have to be to sell someone a display cake?? Get real.

How stupid does someone have to be to not notice how light a huge sheet cake is and not question it?
