FBI: Woman Connected to Colorado School Threats Is Dead

CLEAR CREEK COUNTY, Colo. — The woman at the center of a massive manhunt for allegedly making threats against schools in the Denver metro area is dead, the FBI confirmed Wednesday morning.

Sol Pais, who the FBI said is infatuated with the 1999 Columbine massacre, was found in the woods near the Echo Lake Lodge at the base of Mount Evans Road in Clear Creek County.

On Tuesday, the FBI said Pais flew to Colorado from the Miami area on Monday night and purchased a pump-action shotgun and ammunition gun in the Denver area.

After receiving threats, several schools, including Columbine High School, were placed on lockout on Tuesday.

The lockout later extended to all Denver metro area schools.

On Tuesday night, the vast majority of schools in the Denver metro area announced they would be closed on Wednesday because of the threats that were deemed credible.

OMG ….. I know exactly where that is. I’ve been to Mt. Evans twice in my life, and fished in Echo and Lincoln Lakes on the way to the top. On a side note …. I got one of the worst sunburns in my life up there on my first trip ….. but it was worth it! If you get a chance, go – because it is a beautiful place. Went there in 74′ and around 79′.

Seems like she was having a mental break down and used the idea of a shooting to desperately reach out for attention, but upon realizing what she was doing ended her life… another case of mental health issues in this country that will still somehow be used to blame guns.

Obviously this woman had a few screws loose. She is able to purchase a shotgun. Another reason why severe background checks into mental illness is necessary. Way too many people are able to obtain a weapon that has mental issues.
