Crews Working to Fix Water Main Breaks in Scranton

SCRANTON, Pa. -- Crews were working Tuesday night to fix a pair of water main breaks in Scranton.

One main broke on the 1300 block of Prospect Avenue. The other was in the 500 block of Fig Street.

Roads were closed for a time at both locations.

Pennsylvania American Water has not said how many customers are affected by the water main breaks.

Here we go again! More water breaks in Scranton. Again, if the water companies would upgrade their infrastructure this wouldn’t happen. Instead, their profits go to the shareholders and board of directors. They have underground pipes in excess of 100 years and no plans to upgrade. They’re in a constant break/fix mode and this is the result.
