Penn State Denied ‘Happy Valley’ Trademark

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Penn State has lost its bid to trademark the term "Happy Valley."

The university's application was denied by the U.S. Patent Office this week.

Back in December, Penn State applied for the trademark so it could exclusively put the slogan on clothes and other merchandise.

Penn State could appeal the decision.
