Catholics Observe Ash Wednesday in Scranton

SCRANTON, Pa. -- March 6, is Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent for Christians around the world.

Roman Catholics will head to mass Wednesday to have their foreheads marked with ashes as a symbol of their mortality.

The faithful lined up early Wednesday morning to receive ashes here at Saint Peter's Cathedral in Scranton.
