WILKES-BARRE, Pa. --  Two teenagers were taken to a hospital Friday night after they were struck by a car in Wilkes-Barre.

The crash happened around 6:45 p.m. Friday at the intersection of East North Hampton Street and Wilkes-Barre Boulevard.

Officers say the two minors were struck by a car, a silver Ford Escape, while crossing the road.

Both victims were taken to the hospital with serious injuries according to police at the scene.

A family member told Newswatch 16 the victims are 15 and 16 years old.

The driver and other bystanders attempted to help the minors.

One of those bystanders said one boy was conscious and talking before he was taken to the hospital, but he was unaware of the other's condition.

No arrests have been made but the crash remains under investigation in Luzerne County.
