Skier Dies after Accident at Resort in Carbon County

BLUE MOUNTAIN SKI RESORT — A man died after going over a ski jump at a resort in Carbon County.

According to officials at Blue Mountain Ski Resort, a 21-year-old man died Sunday night after he went over a small ski jump on a beginners trail at the resort.

An autopsy was done Monday, but the results and the victim’s name have not been released.

Ski patrol members at Blue Mountain are still investigating the incident.

Officials said the victim was not wearing a helmet.

    Very sad. My nephew skis and does jumps and stuff and I know he is probably not always playing safe. I was young once and I know I did lots of dumb stuff and thats what scares me lol. You can’t live in a bubble. I don’t know if this mans death was a result of not wearing a helmet or not. The article does not say but please wear a helmet folks. You only have one life.
