Apartment Building Burns in West Hazleton

WEST HAZLETON, Pa. -- Fire crews battled flames for hours at an apartment building in Luzerne County.

Crews were called to the building on East Green Street in West Hazleton around 8 p.m. Saturday.

Flames could be seen shooting from the roof.

Officials said the second and third floors of the building collapsed.

One firefighter was hurt and was taken to the hospital to be checked out, the fire chief said.

The chief said 11 people lived in the building.

A state police fire marshal said the fire appears to be suspicious.
