SCRANTON, Pa. -- Scranton police need help and have reached out on social media for more information about a hit and run.

Last Thursday night, Michael Miele, 57, of Scranton was found lying in the middle of Luzerne Street with head injuries.

Investigators are now searching for a vehicle involved in the crime.

"I mean, obviously, he was hurt because you didn't see him get up, so it's sad. I hope that somebody would turn themselves in, like, if you know you hit somebody, I would turn myself in,” said Kim Bendell of Scranton.

"Drivers right now, they don't give a darn, drivers don't care. All they want to do is just keep right on going,” said Al Goble of Scranton.

Goble is a school crossing guard who works on Luzerne Street. He calls the hit and run unsurprising, but sad.

"Yes, it is, I'll tell you the honest truth, it is," he said.

Newswatch 16 spoke with a woman who said Miele is her roommate. She was horrified to learn he was the victim of a crime and said she hopes the person responsible is caught quickly.

Miele remains hospitalized.

Investigators posted on the department Facebook page and tweeted this message asking for information.
