DINGMAN TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- Authorities confirm the body of a missing woman from Monroe County has been recovered.

The Pike County Coroner tells Newswatch 16 that the body of Sonya Datesman was found by searchers around 2 p.m.

Datesman's body was discovered in Dingman Township after dogs and divers spent much of the day searching along the Delaware River.

"They've been down here and they got four or five boats in the water and they've got divers and dogs," said Duane Marsh of Delaware Township.

The 52 year old from East Stroudsburg had been missing since Sunday.

Her home on Spring Street is about 25 miles away from the search area.

The coroner says there are no signs of foul play.

It's undecided whether there will be on autopsy.

Officials weren't able to provide us with much information on this search. That's because the National Park Service is in charge of the effort and right now there's a federal government shutdown. So, the National Park Service spokesperson was not available to give us any details.

Only employees considered vital to operations, like park rangers, can work during the shutdown.

State police, the local fire department, Northeast Search and Rescue, and game commission officers all helped with the search. They said they could not comment because the National Park Service is in charge of the investigation.
