Crash on Route 309 in Mountain Top

FAIRVIEW TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- A crash closed part of a busy road in Luzerne County Monday afternoon.

The wreck happened on Route 309 in Mountain Top around 3:30 p.m. A pickup truck collided with a tractor trailer that had jack-knifed across the road.

According to officials with Wright Township Volunteer Fire Department, no one was seriously hurt, but the driver of the pickup was taken to the hospital to be checked out.

Route 309 reopened just before 5 p.m.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
