CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- Officials evacuated Montgomery Area schools in Lycoming County following reports of a threat Tuesday morning.
The school was evacuated and children as young as 4 were forced out.
Bomb-sniffing dogs searched school property, including vehicles in the parking lot.
Searched one by one and then escorted by police out of the building, students in Pre-K up through 12th grade were forced out of Montgomery Area School District schools.
The superintendent said two separate threats were found written on a bathroom wall Tuesday morning.
Late Tuesday afternoon, authorities said a juvenile was arrested.
"We immediately went into lockdown at the advice of the Pennsylvania State Police," said Montgomery Area Superintendent Daphne Bowers.
The school district sent a text message to parents of students saying, "the school is currently on lockdown mode. Please don't come to the school at this time. Updates will be sent as soon as possible."
"I panicked, and I cried and me and mom rushed home from Walmart," said parent Ashley Eichenlaub.
Eichenlaub and about a dozen other parents showed up at the school hoping to see their children and find out more about the threat.
By the afternoon, parents were notified they could pick up their students at a nearby location.
According to the school, a juvenile has been arrested and faces felony charges.
Classes are scheduled to resume Wednesday.
