MUNCY TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- Folks looking to do some shopping in one part of Lycoming County might have to put that on hold.

Power went out at the Lycoming Mall around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday.

According to management at the Lycoming Mall, PPL had a problem with the main power line coming into the mall. But a spokesperson for PPL says that is not the case and that there are no current equipment or power failure issues in this area.

The power went out at both the Lycoming Mall and nearby Big Lots. All of the other buildings in the area have power.

The PPL spokesperson tells Newswatch 16 that PPL acknowledges the public interest in the mall and will continue to work with the owner to restore power and nothing is more important to PPL than the convenience of customers.

Several mall tenants tell Newswatch 16 that the owner of the mall did not pay the electric bill.

We reached out to the owner, Michael Kohan of Kohan Retail Investment Group. He tells Newswatch 16, "that is not exactly the case."

Throughout the day, people have been showing up at the Lycoming Mall wanting to shop.

The Lycoming Mall's Facebook page it says the plan is to reopen Wednesday at noon. A spokesperson for PPL says they do not have a time on when power will be restored.
