WILKES-BARRE TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- The power has been stored to the Wyoming Valley Mall in Luzerne County.

The mall near Wilkes-Barre was closed Thursday because power was out to much of the area after Wednesday's night confirmed EF2 tornado.

The Wyoming Valley Mall, near the scene of heavy tornado damage Wednesday night reopened Friday at 10 a.m.

The tornado knocked out power to the Wyoming Valley Mall but the power was restored Thursday.

We found employees and customers getting back to business as usual inside stores.

Many who came to the mall Friday morning left with a lot more than just their items but a feeling that things around here are slowly starting to improve.

"During a tragedy, you try to get back to normal as soon as you can," said Bob Bertoni of Nanticoke. "I think because of all the work everybody did just to give the people this outlet. The opportunity to shop in the mall lessens the burden."

"We just have to go on with our lives and do what we do every day and be happy that we are here," said Joan Feifer of Kingston. "The tornado didn't hurt anyone it's a disaster. I'm glad that everyone is fine."

A spokesperson with the Wyoming Valley Mall expects this weekend to busy as well with Father's Day happening on Sunday.

Until Mundy Street reopens outside the mall, your best bet is to access this place by using Kidder Street.
