SCRANTON, Pa. -- A student involved in a bullying incident at her school is getting special treatment from some big-league stars.
A video Scranton fourth-grader Cassidy Warner posted on Facebook earlier this year about being bullied went viral.
Some entertainment and sports stars voiced their support for Cassidy, including the New York Yankees.
On Tuesday, Cassidy traveled to New York for an anti-bullying event with some of the Yankees star players.
Over the past couple of months, Cassidy's video has helped spread awareness about bullying.
On Tuesday, the Yankees hosted Cassidy and her family.
The smile on Cassidy Warner's face was a permanent fixture. After all, she had a day she'll never forget alongside New York Yankees superstars Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton, and other members of the Bronx Bombers.
But getting here hasn't been so easy.
"All of us have been a victim of it at some point and if not, we know someone very close to us who has," said Yankees outfielder Giancarlo Stanton.
Back in March, Cassidy posted a video on Facebook detailing the struggles she's endured with being bullied at school. The heartbreaking post went viral, catching the attention of the Yankees.
"As a team, we all tried to hop on board. What could we do? How could we send a message back to Cassidy and reach out and tell her she's not alone? We're here to support her and we care about her and she's got a friend in the New York Yankees. So, we all hopped on board and made the video," said Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge.
As part of the team's "Hope Week" initiative, the Yankees hosted Cassidy and her family for a kickball game at the site of the old Yankee Stadium and gave them tickets to Tuesday night's game against the Washington Nationals.
"When I started walking, everybody started clapping for me and I got to play kickball with the New York Yankees," Cassidy said.
"As her dad, it makes me feel so much better that I see her smiling. She's happier today, more content. Everybody that reached out, really lifted up her spirits and today's just been a tremendous day for her," said Cassidy's father James Warner.
From the start, it was four-time All-Star Dellin Betances who took Cassidy under his wing. The two were basically inseparable throughout the day. Betances grew up in the Bronx and felt the need to make an impact on Cassidy.
"I see that she was a little shy and I tried to help her out as much as I can and kind of explain to her the whole thing that we're trying to do. She was definitely enjoying it. She was having a great time and she's looking forward to the game tonight. It's a good day for her," Betances said.
Prior to the game, Cassidy threw out the first pitch at Yankee Stadium.
