UPDATE: Interstate 80 west between the Conyngham/Nescopeck exit and the Mainville/Mifflinville exit reopened around 6:45 a.m. in Luzerne County.

BLACK CREEK TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- Part of Interstate 80 in Luzerne County is shut down due to a crash.

Troopers say a big rig hauling trash and a car collided just after 11 p.m. on Monday on Interstate 80 west near the Columbia County line.

The tractor-trailer driver was hurt and taken to the hospital.

Officials haven't said how the driver of the car is doing.

I-80 west is closed between the Conyngham/Nescopeck exit (256) and the Mainville/Mifflinville exit (242).

State police are still looking into what led to the crash in Luzerne County.
