Home in Gilberton Wrecked by Flames

GILBERTON, Pa. -- Flames destroyed a home in Schuylkill County Sunday night.

Crews were called to the place on Island Street in Gilberton around 7 p.m.

The fire chief said a firefighter was hurt. It is not clear how badly.

The home had been abandoned, the chief said.

A state police fire marshal will look for the cause.

    Gilberton, a beautiful little town. This is a suburb of posh Girardville, its a modern marvel, the rust colored creeks with littered empty 30 packs of miller high life on its banks, make this a very romantic place during a row home structure fire.
