BENTON TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- A man pulled from the lake at Lackawanna State Park has died.

According to the Lackawanna County coroner, David J. Nicoteri, 24, from Greenfield Township, died at the hospital.

Park rangers tell Newswatch 16 the man was kayaking on Lackawanna Lake when the kayak capsized shortly after noon Saturday.

Rangers and bystanders pulled Nicoteri from the water. EMS and park rangers performed CPR. He was taken to the hospital where he later died, the coroner said.

An autopsy on Monday determined Nicoteri died from drowning. His death was ruled accidental.
