So said Union General William Tecumseh Sherman after what he witnessed in the Civil War.

World War II was especially hellish for a family from Schuylkill County. Three brothers never came home.

Mike Stevens talked with the family members left behind to cry over their deaths.

We first met them in 1984, on a somber trip, on The Pennsylvania Road.
