SCRANTON, Pa. --  A week after police say Nina Gatto was killed inside her apartment, police have charged three people with her murder.

Neighbors of Gatto tell Newswatch 16 they've been sick to their stomachs and have lost sleep knowing what happened in north Scranton's Bangor Heights development last week.

Investigators say Gatto was killed inside her home on April 20th and on Friday, Scranton police say three people have been arrested and face homicide charges.

Melinda Palermo and Cornelius Mapson of Pittston are in custody. A warrant was out for a third person, Kevin Weeks.   Scranton Police say they found Weeks Friday night.

"If it was them, they should get the punishment real good. To hurt a young girl, who just started her life. I loved her like she was a daughter to me," said neighbor Noelia Solivan.

Neighbors who knew Gatto still can't believe what happened to someone they viewed as a kind friend.

"She gave me her kindness. She gave me her love and her attention and when I needed something, she was there and her mother was a beautiful person."

Those who live close by to where the homicide took place say the entire week has been very unsettling.

"When I first found out, it's right in our backyard. It's very chilling and just unsettling. We're out here on our porches all the time and it's just nervewracking," said Colleen Joyce of Scranton.

This is the Electric City's first homicide in more than a year.

Police have not yet released how Nina Gatto was killed.
