WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — A teacher in the Wilkes-Barre Area School District is accused of trying to obtain welfare benefits to which she was not entitled.
Police say Jennifer Yelen received about $3,000 in medical assistance and SNAP benefits by lying about her income.
Yelen faces fraud charges. She is free on bail.
