One Dead After Crash of Stolen Car in Scranton

SCRANTON -- The car involved in a deadly crash in Scranton had been stolen.

The crash happened at the intersection of Route 307 and Snook Street near Lake Scranton early Monday morning.

Police tell us Angelo Matlock, 32, of Scranton, died when the car ran off the road, rolled down a private driveway, hit some trees and flipped.

Daquan Johnson, 25, of Scranton, was also in the car. He took off from the scene but was later captured by police.

Police said the car was stolen from Hemlock Street Sunday night.

Johnson is charged with theft.

Police in Scranton are still trying to figure out who was driving the car involved in that deadly crash.
