WAYNE TOWNSHIP -- The coroner has been called to a fire in Schuylkill County Thursday.

The fire chief in Summit Station says the blaze broke out around 5:15 p.m. Crews arrived to find flames and heavy smoke at the home on Fair Road in Wayne Township, south of Schuylkill Haven.

Fire crews from Schuylkill and Berks counties responded and managed to quickly douse the flames.

The house is divided into two sections. The part on the left burned.

Inside, fire crews say they found a person's body in a bedroom area.

The coroner has been called, but so far there's no identification and no cause of death.

"It was on the west side of the house. It's kind of two separate houses so we had to go into one side to get to another. It was kind of broken up," Summit Station Fire Chief Brad Zimmerman said.

A state police fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire, but the fire chief says he has no reason to believe it's suspicious.
