DUPONT -- A former police officer in Luzerne County could serve close to two years in prison.

David Turkos of Dupont was sentenced last week.

In June, he pleaded guilty to corruption of minors.

Turkos was arrested in 2015 for allegedly raping two boys and threatening them.

This story fails to mention that this sentence isn’t actually 2 years in prison. The paperwork has yet to be updated but it’s probably more like 6-23 1/2 months. Which means in 6 months he will be released. It also doesn’t say he was charged with 3 first degree felonies and a 2nd degree felony, but pleads to an M1. Same charge you get for giving someone under 21 a beer. Also the sex offender registry that’s supposed to make everyone feel safe with knowledge, he won’t be on. Way to go PA.

Only two years?? If had shot and killed an unarmed black man, he’d only get 6 weeks paid leave.
