SCRANTON -- The Columbus Day Association marked Columbus Day by laying a wreath at the statue of Christopher Columbus on Courthouse Square in Scranton.

Columbus landed in the Bahamas on October 12, 1492. He went on to lead four voyages between Europe and the New World.

The wreath laying is a tradition that goes back more than a century in Scranton.
