Crews Repair Broken Water Main in Newport Township

NEWPORT TOWNSHIP -- A water main break in Luzerne County left approximately 300 customers without water Monday.

According to Pennsylvania American Water, a 10-inch water main broke on Kirmar Avenue in the Wanamie section of Newport Township. Repairs were completed by 7 p.m. Monday.

Water tankers were made available at the Newport Township building and the Wanamie firehouse for those affected.
